This $32M project of 75 low-income and formerly homeless senior citizens was an innovative effort for Danco Communities—although they have built ZNE affordable housing since 2011, this 4-story community has one of the first large, central heat pump water heaters installed in new construction in California. The rooftop solar array offsets 100% of all use on the site. Redwood Energy performed the Zero Net Energy, Title 24, California Utility Allowance Calculator and Green Point Rated Certifications. This 56,00 sf. development was completed in 2020.
